“Shut up. Okay I get what you guys are saying and I appreciate it,” I pause, “but not until the plea is accepted. Which we are trying to push back until Ella gets accepted into this school.”
“How’s that going?” Ace asks.
“Could be better, that’s something else that I wanted to talk to you guys about,” I mutter. “On paper, Ella is perfect for the school… in reality, they research the family.” Everyone groans because we know what that means, “I’ve talked to some of our contacts whose kids go there who have informed me that many times you can get them to overlook the research into the families for a small donation.”
“Fuck yeah,” Blaze from the back yells, and Ace and I both glare at him.
“How much?” Ace asks.
I down the rest of my whiskey and look at them, “100 thousand, now I know that technically this is my responsibility-“
“Fuck that, she’s all of our responsibility,” Blaze yells again from the back and everyone yells in agreement.
“Yeah Prez,” Ace says at my side, I glare at him telling him not yet and everyone roots around him, “You may be legally responsible for her but her school any of that shit, the club will pay for it.”
“I can afford her tuition,” I tell them not wanting to tell them about Oz’s off-shore account that I will be pulling it from but I can’t get ahold of the 100k for the bribe.
❖
5 days
I meet with Lucy for our weekly dinner date but dinner date is really just code for drinks. I pull into the parking lot and jump out of Dax’s car and walk into the bar to meet Lucy.
“Did I just see you pull up in a Land Rover?” I shyly look away as she grins. “You finally got a new car?”
“Not really, mine shit the bed a couple of days ago… needs work. It’s kind of a loaner.”
“Kind of?” I’ve known Lucy for so long that I don’t remember a time when she wasn’t a part of my life.
“Okay, remember the guy I was telling you about the other day who-“ she cuts me off
“You mean 451, the sexy one who, made you wet, and is suddenly the legal guardian of his goddaughter?”
“Lucy!” I shriek, “I only said one of those things.”
“Oh, I could tell the other two by how you were talking about him. Does he fall into this whole thing?” She asks me and I smile and wrinkle my nose at her question. “Holy shit, how?”
“He saw me and stopped when I was standing on the side of the road. He canceled my tow I was going through with my roadside assistance and called his guy to come and get it. He gave me a ride back to his shop but ended up making a stop and then took me to my waxing appointment.”
“Did you have a date?” She asks me and I revolt.
“No, I’m married, Lucy”
“Whatever, Brad is a dick.” She has never been very fond of my husband.
“Still, I’m married. Anyway, I have a cracked block, whatever that is, and he’s having his shop fix it.” She looks interested.
“He owns a shop? Maybe I’ll take my car there.” She wiggles her eyebrows. Knowing my friend I know that she’s just trying to catch a look at the man who has made me flustered.
“He says that they really only do bikes, but they work on the club's cars there.”
“The club?” She asks when the recognition hits and she, “Midnight Syn?” She says which is what the locals call the Midnight Syndicate. I nod my head. “Oh, sexy, works with his hands, and an….” She pauses and lowers her voice, “An outlaw. I bet you he knows how to handle some torque.” I can’t help but laugh mostly because her comment doesn’t even make complete sense. She and I suck up the remaining of our drinks and ask for another.
“That’s not even the best part.” He stops mid-sip and looks back over to me.
“Well, spill it.”
“He tried to kiss me.” My eyes are wide as I spit the words out and continue to sip the drink.
“Do what?” She asks me as she coughs on her own. “Tell me everything. I mean you let him right?” She mutters at me and I laugh then make myself glare at her in response.
“I feel so bad,” I deflate as I’m talking to her. “I’m married.” I hold up my left hand. “And my husband is going to be home in 5 days and I’m here telling you a story about some biker trying to kiss me.”
“I don’t give a fuck you have got to tell me everything.” Lucy was in a relationship for a while, but after they split up she has refused to be in a relationship since. I’m not exactly sure what all happened and I never pressed her to tell me everything. I just know that he was abusive.
“He walked me out to his car and right before I got into the truck he put his hands on the side of me and I was trapped against the car.” I reenact the scene for her and tell her the story of my almost kiss with the only man, besides my husband, in the last decade.
“Holy shit, Bil, I bet you that man fucks like a…” she wiggles her eyes at me causing me to roll my eyes and laugh
“You know they call him Khan around the club.”
“What?” She laughs, then her face falls as the name strikes some recognition as well, “Khan?”
“I dunno. One of his guys at his shop said that it’s because Genghis Khan fucked a lot of women, but Dax told me that there’s more to the story.”
“Well, when you find out… you have to tell me… but if there’s one thing that I know… is that if a man has fucked that many women… he knows how to fuck.”
“Luc isn’t that like…?” I ask her, not finishing my question, and she laughs.
“Bil, you were so much more fun before Brad came along, but as long as everyone practices safe sex who the fuck cares.”
1 day
Dax: Princess, your car is ready.
The text comes through and I jump up from my desk… not really because I want to give up the Rover for my shit-box Camry, but because I don’t want to answer questions from Brad when he gets home tomorrow.
Me: THANK YOU
I type back in all caps.
I pick up my phone and my bag as I rush out of the door. Everyone has been gone for a couple of hours already, I needed to stay a little later to finish up some things before this weekend when Brad gets home.
Me: I’m leaving school now, are you still open?
Dax: Technically no, but I’m still here. Just knock on the door if it’s locked.
When I arrive, I see my car sitting in the parking lot, but all of the doors are shut and the lights are off except for a dim glow that I can see from the glass door that shows from the hallway. I bang on the door and am startled as one of the bay doors opens. “Bil, over here,” he mutters. I walk towards the open door. I cannot see Dax until I get to the door and gasp when I look at him. He standing in a bay, standing above his bike, clearly he has been working on it, shirtless while sweat streaks down his chest. I could tell from when I rode on his bike that he had some muscles, but I don’t think I have ever seen muscles on a man, in real life, quite like his. His arms are covered in tattoos, as well as up his neck. He has a few tattoos on his chest, but those tattoos are not what takes my breath away it’s the lines that I can see from his abs… but more importantly it’s the abdominal lines that form that “v”… and for some reason, I cannot stop myself from imagining running my tongue down those lines until it reaches the ultimate destination. I wonder how big…
I shake my head as the door comes sliding back down behind me. He releases the button that he has pressed with his finger to close the door and turns walking back to the bike, I see the large tattoo of the MC logo across his back. I cannot help but step up to look at it more closely when he turns around and we are face to face towards one another.
“Billie,” his eyes drop to look at me and I can smell the sweat from the work which he was doing before I got here. “Like what you see?” He asks me as he steps closer to me and for some reason I feel like I cannot breathe. What the fuck is this man doing to me. We are standing so close that
I can feel his body heat, but we are not touching. I can’t help but lick my bottom lip and drag my teeth across it. He smiles and he steps back breaking our tension. His actions send confusion all over my face and he laughs. “Ms. Saxs, when you’re ready… I’ll be here… but I can wait and figure out whatever this chemistry is going to result in until you’re ready. ‘Cause Princess, this tension here, is going to explode and honestly, I’m not even sure if I’m ready for that.” I stare dumbfounded as he laughs again and tells me to follow him to his office, to grab my keys. “How was the Rover?”
“It was fine.” He grabs his shirt off the chair slipping it over his head, an audible sob accidentally comes from me, and I can see his smile he has on his face once the shirt falls into its place.
“Here you go.” He hands the keys to me as we walk out into the lobby, as he unlocks the door and holds it open for me.
“Shit, I left my bag in the truck,” I mumble the words as spinning around in the direction of the Land Rover. Nodding he clicks the fob that is in his hands and I walk over to the passenger side and grab it out of the seat. “Bye, Rover, I’ll miss you.” When I turn around he stands silently laughing. “What?”
“You want to keep her?” He asks me and I stand shocked continually blinking as he continues to quietly laugh.
“Um,” I pause and try to force the words out. “I couldn’t do that.” His slight laugh ceases.
“Sure you could, I’m not using it.”
“But it’s so nice,” I mutter and he nods.
“I know, it’s sad really… I have a truck back at the house… this one usually stays up here.” He pauses looking at me, “She doesn’t get the attention she deserves either, you two have something in common, you could keep each other company.”
“Dax, that’s like a 70k dollar truck” ignoring his last statement.
“More like 90 after everything.” I can’t help but look back and forth from my shitty car to the Land Rover sitting in front of me; my mouth slightly agape.
“I wouldn’t even know where to being explaining that tomorrow.” His lips pursed I watch as he nods his head in an understanding gesture. When he steps forward to grab my bag I can’t help but take a step back, protecting myself from the gravity in which his body seems to have over mine.
“I promise, I’ll be good. Look my hands are in my pockets.” He holds his elbows out, to make a point. He takes his hand out for just a second to reach for my bag, tossing it over his shoulder, and then pushes his hand back into his pocket. I step next to him as we walk towards my car.
“Oh, I almost forgot to ask, how much do I owe you.” Feeling like a complete idiot and making sure that he doesn’t think I’m trying to take advantage of him.
“You’re good.” He shrugs, but I can’t help but see him roll his eyes at my question.
“No, it had to have been expensive.” But he just shakes his head and makes a zipper motion with his hands to his mouth. I’m dumbstruck as we continue to walk to my car. When we reach it I find myself wishing that the parking lot was longer. He walks past me as I reach the car, the lights on my car flicker once signaling that the car has unlocked. He opens the door and tosses my bag into the passenger seat. I don’t know how to act or what to do to repay him. I cannot come up with anything so instead, I wrap my arms around his neck and I hug him tightly. I can feel his arms cautiously wrap around me and hold me tightly against him. Feeling his rigid body relax against mine. I feel his arms release and I wish he would hold on longer, but instead, I take his lead and let go as well. “Thank you, Dax.” I place my hand on his chest, and I don’t want to leave.
“No problem, princess, let me know if you need anything at all.” He turns and starts to walk back towards his shop.
When I pull into my driveway I am surprised to see the lights are on… that can only mean one thing… that Brad is home early. Turning off my car I exit the car and walk up to the front door, fighting with the conflicting emotions of happiness and sadness at the exact same time.
❖
I hear someone call out my name as I am opening the door and watch as Ash comes up to meet me… “Was that just a 5 thousand dollar hug?” I glare at him since I am clearly not wanting to talk about that. “Oh, shit dude. What is going on with you?” I grumble some nonsense and he laughs as he follows me into the lobby of the shop and I lock the door behind us. He follows me into the bays as I walk back over to my bike and begin to work on it. I start to feel weird as he just continues to look at me. “Need help?” He asks as I shake my head no. “Wanna go to the club?” He asks me. I stop for a second.
“Yeah, I need to go check on the club anyway.” Sirens is the strip club that the MC owns. I need to work Billie out of my head… although much of the last two weeks my thoughts have seemed to be consumed with Billie Saxs. It’s only 8 o’clock which means that the nighttime dancers will be coming in for their shifts. I finish up with my bike and we head over to the club.
When I walk into the club the energy changes instantly and there’s a hum in the air. “The words spreading already,” Ash whispers into my ear and I shake my head at him. What he is trying to say is what he always says, when I come here, that the girls are spreading the word that I’m here.
“Chell,” I greet the bartender and she smiles at me handing Ash and I both a glass of whiskey. I walk towards my office, enter it, and push the door almost all the way closed. The light rap on the door brings my mind back from the thoughts of what I actually need to be doing. When the door opens wider I see Stormy standing in the doorway wearing a cross top that I’m sure ties in the back and a skirt that doesn’t cover her entire ass, with the straps from her thong pulled up over her hips making her ass look larger than what it is. From where she stands I can see that the skirt is short enough to see that her thong is so small that you can almost see the top of it from the bottom of her skirt.
“If it isn’t Khan.” She coos as she shuts the door, walking through the office, and sits down on my desk. I lean back in my chair, not saying a word to her, but letting her know that I may be interested in what she is thinking about. She slides herself across the edge until she is sitting in front of me, placing her feet on each side of me on the chair. “Where have you been hiding?” I feel one side of my mouth curving up into a smirk in response to the smile that sits on her face, while she reaches behind herself and unties her top letting her tits pop out. I reach up to her, grasping her by the wrists and pulling her onto my lap. I’m going to fuck Billie Saxs out of my system.
Hopefully this time it works.
…You’ve gotta go…
Lucy and I skipped last week’s dinner since Brad had only been back for a couple of days. He told me to go but I still felt like it was wrong. So tonight, I am catching her up on everything.
“How did the homecoming go?” Her words are flat and I can tell by her words that she really doesn’t want to know but that she’s only asking out of obligation. I pause mid-sip not making any eye contact with her. “Oh, well that can’t be good.”
“No, it was fine… it’s just.” I pause looking around, not wanting to admit the next words that I’m going to say, “We haven’t had sex since he got home.” Her eyes widen, sitting her glass down slowly and carefully, and turns to me. “And it’s not like I haven’t been trying… because believe me I have been… but it’s like he’s not interested… and…” I trail and grunt out in frustration. “I went 6 months without sex… and then we did… once, and now he’s good… I swear before he left,” I stop and she nods…
“Don’t even start with that Bil-,” Lucy drops her eyes to me.
“What?”
“Don’t try and pretend with yourself that everything was great before he left.” She puts it bluntly to me. “He was being distant before as well. You didn’t realize it but you would complain about characteristics that told me he was.”
“No, he wasn’t.”
“We had this same conversation but in reverse.” She conti
nues in a tone that is supposed to mimic me, “Lucy I don’t understand. He’s getting ready to leave soon and he’s never here and when he is it’s like he wants nothing to do with me.” She makes me remember the conversation. I glance down and pick at my nails as I sigh. “Okay, Bil.” She snaps to me, and I’m not sure what’s going on with her tonight. “We’ll play like we don’t remember before he left.” He clears her throat, nodding to the bartender that we need another drink, and then starts again, “I’m sure you’ve been trying with him. Since you are all tied in knots about a certain sexy biker.”
“Lucy!” I gasp as she laughs finally.
“Seriously though, Brad won’t fuck you, just go fuck the infamous Khan.” She said as she leans over sipping her drink.
❖
A month later, I am sitting in my office, as I receive an email from the board of directors about the new students coming to the campus this year. There are only 5 students who are new to the system, and I smile whilst the name Ella Davis stares back at me. Wondering how exactly Dax was able to get her into the school and knowing that I also don’t want to know.
Thinking about Dax makes a tightness in my stomach happen, Brad and I still haven’t had sex since the night that he got home…which makes it very hard for me to stop imaging Dax standing in the bay of Pistons, shirtless. My eyes close as I start to daydream about him lifting me up as his lips crash down to mine… taking me back to his office and doing terrible things to me there. I feel a presence in my office as I open my eyes and I feel like my dreams are bleeding over into my reality.
“Do you need me to come back later?” He mutters as my eyes flutter open coming face to face with his complete amusement.
